Overview

The Goring Hotel, an iconic luxury hotel in London, has been a valued repeat customers since 2013. Initially, the hotel required lockers for 30 staff members, including chefs, to store clean and dirty uniforms and personal belongings. Recently, they approached us again to modernise their locker facilities, accommodate an increased workforce of 55, and utilise their space more effectively, including low-height lockers under windows.

Challenges

• Increasing locker capacity from 30 to 55 staff members without overcrowding the existing space.
• Updating the outdated keyed locking system to more convenient and secure combination locks.
• Optimising underutilised areas, specifically under-window spaces.

Solution

We provided The Goring Hotel with our premium Ultimate Fully Welded 2 Door Lockers. Key features included:

• Mechanical Combination Locks: Upgraded security from traditional keyed locks to Lowe & Fletcher 2800 Mechanical Combination Locks for enhanced convenience and modern appeal.
• Customised Internal Fittings: Lockers featured hanging rails specifically designed for chefs’ uniforms, alongside a 3/4 depth shoe shelf to accommodate footwear neatly.
• Bespoke Design: Specifically designed lower-height locker units were custom-built to fit seamlessly under window areas, maximising previously unused space and maintaining a clean, spacious feel.

Results

The new locker solution successfully met The Goring Hotel’s expanding staffing requirements, increasing their locker room capacity from 30 to 55 staff members. The space was visually decluttered and modernised, significantly enhancing both usability and aesthetic appeal.
